The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is monitoring another weather disturbance forming in the Pacific Ocean.
”We are seeing another weather disturbance in the Pacific Ocean, but it is possible that it may dissipate,” Pagasa weather forecaster Jori Loiz said during a press conference Monday at the state weather bureau’s office in Quezon City.
He said the analysis for the weather disturbance might be finished by this week, adding that it was too early to predict whether the disturbance would become a typhoon.
If it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility and continues to become a low pressure area, it will be named “Senang”.
Pagasa officer-in-charge Landrico Dalida Jr. told PNA that the weather disturbance was passing through the same route as tropical storm “Ruby” (international name: Hagupit).
Pagasa sees the weather disturbance heading toward northern Luzon, according to Dalida.
Pagasa said there could be two more typhoons to enter the country this month.
The Pacific Ocean is a breeding ground for typhoons, which usually triggered through the presence of warm air in the area.
