At 4:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm “GENER” was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 380 km East of Aparri, Cagayan (18.6°N, 125.7°E). Maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. Forecast to move North Northwest at 15 kph.
Batanes group of islands and Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan group of islands will experience stormy weather while Isabela, Kalinga and Apayao will have rains with gusty winds and the coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough. The rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Visayas will be cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms while Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and coming from the northeast to northwest over the rest of Luzon. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
