Tropical Storm “EMONG” has maintained its strength as it moves Northward.

(as of 10:00 p.m.) 430 km Southeast of Basco, Batanes
Coordinates: 19.3°N, 126.4°E
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and
gustiness of up 80 kph
Movement: North at 19 kph
Forecast Positions/Outlook: Wednesday evening:
510 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes
Thursday morning:
680 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes and
out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)
At 4:00 a.m. Today, the center of Tropical Storm “EMONG” was estimated based on all available data at 420 km East of BASCO, BATANES (20.3°N, 126.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move North at 19 kph.
Luzon will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Visayas, Zamboanga Peninzula, Northern Mindanao and CARAGA will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
