PAGASA advised residents in Luzon to brace for hotter weather as the summer season reaches its peak

Weather burea PAGASA advised residents in Luzon to brace for hotter weather as the summer season reaches its peak this April and May.

PAGASA weather forecaster Nikos Peñaranda said due to the ridge of a high pressure area, the entire Luzon will experience warm weather the entire week, with temperature reaching to at most 35-degree Celsius.

The weather bureau said the hottest weather so far this year was recorded last April 12 at 35. 3-degree Celsius.

Peñaranda, however, said previous records suggest that temperature in the country could reach to 37-degree Celsius.

“In the coming days [iinit pa lalo]. Mayroon pa kasi tayong Mayo, aasahan natin na maaari nating maranasan pa ang mas mainit na temperatura,” Peñaranda told dzMM.

“Asahan din natin na walang masyadong pagbabago sa panahon na mararanasan dito sa Luzon.”

Peñaranda added that the peak of the heat will be experienced between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

PAGASA, meanwhile, advised residents in several areas in Mindanao for possible floods due to the presence of a trough of a low pressure area

Peñaranda particularly warned residents in Agusan provinces, Compostella Valley, Davao Oriental, Surigao provinces and Misamis Oriental to expect isolated rains.
