SEVERE WEATHER BULLETIN #23-FINAL FOR:LPA Basyang | Tropical Cyclone: Alert
“BASYANG” HAS WEAKENED INTO A LOW PRESSURE AREA. | ISSUED AT:5:00 PM, 14 February 2018
- Re-development into a Tropical Depression remains a possibility. The public and disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) offices concerned are advised to monitor for possible issuance of a Weather Advisory for this weather disturbance.
- Despite this development, scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains with possible gusty conditions will continue over Palawan. Meanwhile, the Tail-End of a Cold Front will bring scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rains will prevail over Quezon, Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas. Residents of these areas must continue monitoring for updates, take appropriate measures against possible flooding and landslides, and coordinate with their respective local DRRM offices.
- Sea travel remains risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of Central Luzon, and the eastern and western seaboards of Southern Luzon due to rough to very rough seas associated with the surge of the Northeast Monsoon.
