“VINTA” has slightly intensified as it continues to move west towards the Isabela-Cagayan area.
At 4:00 am today, the center of Tropical Storm “VINTA” was estimated based on all available data at 690 km East Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (15.9°N, 131.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move West at 19 kph.
The provinces of Cagayan, Isabela and Aurora will have rains and gusty winds with rough to very rough seas. Quezon Province, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera and rest of Central Luzon and Cagayan Valley will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast will prevail over the rest of Northern and Central Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Northeast to Northwest with slight to moderate seas.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 5.0 – 15.0 mm per hour (moderate – heavy) within the 500 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.
Areas under Public Storm Warning Signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
Sea travel is risky over the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
