SYNOPSIS: At 4:00 pm today, Tropical Storm “MARIO” was estimated based on all available data at 576 km East of Infanta, Quezon (14.9°N, 127.0°E). With maximum winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 26 kph.
FORECAST: The provinces of Cagayan including Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands and Northern Isabela will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. The provinces of Catanduanes, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Mt. Province, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Ilocos Norte, Northern Aurora and the rest of Cagayan Valley region will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. Eastern and Central Visayas and Bicol Region will be cloudy with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger
flashfloods and landslides. The rest of Luzon and of Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. The rest of Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northwest to Southwest will prevail over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and coming from the Northeast to Northwest over the rest of Luzon. the coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.
