Bagyong Dante Updates : “Dante” enters Philippines Area of Responsibility

In the latest update from PAGASA at 4:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 440 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (9.5°N, 130.5°E). It is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao.
The LPA may intensify into a storm over the weekend and will be called “Dante”. It will be the fourth storm to enter the country this year.

At 4:00 p.m. today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 440 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao Del Sur (9.5°N, 130.5°E). It is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao.
Forecast:
Mindanao and Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Bicol region and the rest of Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the east to southeast will prevail over Northern and Central Luzon and coming from the east to northeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate.
